Turkish language classes online, from A1 to C2
For adults who want a structured Turkish course with a native teacher, in private or group lessons. Start with a free 20 to 30 minute trial lesson.
This online Turkish course runs from A1, your first words, to C2, where you can follow almost anything you hear or read. Your teacher is Ceylan Meriç, a native Turkish speaker with an MA in Teaching Turkish and 8 years of teaching behind her. You can take the course in private lessons or in a group, and you start at whatever level you're at now.
Why learn with Turkly
- A course built on the A1 to C2 levels. Each level ends with things you should be able to do, so you know what you're working toward and when you're ready to move on.
- A teacher qualified in teaching Turkish. Ceylan's MA is in teaching Turkish to learners, and she has taught every level for 8 years.
- One-to-one lessons at your own pace, or group lessons alongside other students.
- Grammar explained in English while you need it. The lessons shift into Turkish as you improve.
- Lessons shaped by your reason for learning. Ceylan often teaches for TÖMER and TYS, the university C1, life in Türkiye and business Turkish, and the course adapts to each.
- A free start: the level test and the trial lesson cost nothing.
"Ceylan's classes are really really good!" is how one student put it. You can see how she teaches on her verified Instagram, @turkishlessonstr, which has more than 13,000 followers.
How it works
- A free trial lesson of 20 to 30 minutes, where Ceylan finds out your level and why you're learning Turkish.
- A plan for your goal. Together you agree on a starting level, a target level and what the lessons will focus on.
- Online lessons of 50 to 60 minutes. Each comes with materials, plus practice to do in between so new grammar and words stick before the next class.

Private or group lessons?
Private lessons follow your pace and your schedule. All of the speaking time is yours, and the content can lean toward your goal, whether that's an exam, a job or everyday life. They suit you if you have a deadline, have stalled at one level, or need flexible times. The private Turkish tutor page has more on one-to-one lessons.
Group lessons follow the same levels with other learners. You hear other people's questions and mistakes, and you practise conversation with someone besides the teacher. If you're interested in a group, say so in your request and Ceylan will tell you what's available at your level.
If you can't decide, leave it until the trial lesson. By the end of it you'll know your level and what you need, and that makes the choice easier.
Price
Prices aren't listed on the site. The trial lesson is free. When you send a request, Ceylan replies within 24 hours with prices and the options for private and group lessons.
Frequently asked questions
Is an online course as effective as a classroom?
A language course is mostly speaking, listening, reading and writing with feedback from a teacher, and all of that works online. You don't have to travel, and you can learn with a native Turkish teacher wherever you live.
Which level should I start at?
That depends on what you already know. Complete beginners start at A1. If you've studied before, take the free level test, and the trial lesson will confirm the result. Starting at the right level means you don't waste weeks repeating things you know.
Can I take lessons from a different time zone?
Yes. Lessons are online, so tell Ceylan your time zone and the days that work for you when you send your request, and she'll reply with times.
What do I need?
A computer or tablet with a camera and microphone, a stable connection and somewhere quiet. Ceylan provides the lesson materials.
Will the teacher explain in English?
Yes. Ceylan explains in English or Turkish. At the lower levels most explanations are in English, and from around B1 more of each lesson is in Turkish.
How do I sign up?
Use the lesson request form on this page. Tell Ceylan your goal, your current level if you know it, and whether you'd prefer private or group lessons. She'll reply within 24 hours to set up your free trial.

Meet Ceylan Meriç
Ceylan is a native Turkish speaker with an MA in Teaching Turkish and 8 years of teaching behind her. She teaches adults, teens and children online, in private and group lessons.
In your trial lesson she finds out where your Turkish is now and what you need it for. Every lesson after that works toward it. For an exam, that means the tasks you'll be marked on; for a move, the conversations you'll have with a landlord or a doctor.
